Dig – Children’s Book Review

We have had the pleasure of reviewing the fabulous children’s book Dig which has been written by children’s author Nicky Gilbody and illustrated by Stephanie Jayne. Dig has been published by Blue Falcon Publishing and is Nicky’s second children’s book.

What is Dig About

Blurb –

When an ordinary stroll in the woods turns into an adventure, little Mole finds himself being a big help to his woodland friends. Sometimes being small can really come in handy!

But just around the corner lurks sly Fox, who thinks Mole is just the right size to make the perfect snack. Luckily for Mole, it seems that one good turn deserves another.

What we thought about Dig

Dig is a wonderful book for children with a lovely message about kindness and helping others. It also shows that it doesn’t matter on your size there is always a way you can help others out.

My daughter thoroughly enjoyed reading Dig, we do love a good rhyming story and this is definitely one. She loved following along with mole as he helped out the other woodland creatures along his way and how in return they came to his aid when he was in need of help.

The book is well written and the rhyme is easy to follow along with for young children.

The illustrations are bold and bright which help bring the characters to life and mole is very cute along with some of the other animals featured in the story.
